Learn what carries over and what's new in Visions of Mana's New Game Plus mode. Get ready for Expert Difficulty and max out your classes!

Hey there! So you've finished your first run of Visions of Mana and are wondering about New Game Plus (NG+)? It's a great way to keep playing and tackle tougher challenges. Let's break down what you should expect when you jump back in.

Basically, most of what you worked hard for in your initial playthrough will stick around. This includes your characters' levels, all the gear you've equipped and collected, and pretty much every item in your inventory. The really cool part is that you'll have access to all the Elemental Vessels right from the start, once you get past that initial prologue section. Oh, and all your Elemental Points get refunded, which means you'll have to re-spec your characters. If you had a super custom build going, get ready to rebuild it!

Now, there are a couple of things that *don't* carry over, mainly your key items. This makes sense since you're replaying the story. The only key item exception is the Diary Pages you find from the Li’l Cacti. Because you keep these, any benefits you unlocked from finding them will be active as soon as you start controlling Val in Tianeea. On the flip side, your in-game bestiary resets. So, if you were aiming for that trophy or achievement for filling it out, you'll need to fight all those enemies again.

What's New in NG+?

Alright, so what's actually *different*? The main draw for NG+ is the new difficulty setting: Expert Difficulty. Enemies are significantly tougher, so you'll definitely want to be in NG+ to experience this. Beyond that, don't expect any brand-new bosses or story content. However, all the chests and Elementite nodes do reset. This is awesome because it means you can gather more Elemental Points to invest in your characters' Elemental Plots. Since you have the Vessels unlocked early, you won't have to backtrack later to grab them.

This setup in NG+ makes it totally possible to max out all your classes on the Elemental Plots. It's a fantastic opportunity to really fine-tune your character builds. Plus, those Grizzly Syrups and golden spots will respawn, letting you collect them all over again. Just a heads-up, the shops do reset too, so you'll need to play a bit to get access to the better items they offer again.
