Level 05--Valley of the Kings

The level starts with a battle against SEVEN enemies, six armed with guns. They don't all spawn at once, allowing you to focus on them individually.

If playing the Remastered version, utilize Photo Mode after defeating each enemy to identify your next threat.

Equip your shotgun with regular shells. Two blasts at close range are usually sufficient.

Immediately run diagonally right and take cover behind the short stone pillar on the east side. The first enemy will appear on the opposite side of the pillar. Use a jump-then-shoot maneuver (Vertical Leap) to defeat them.

The next two enemies will approach from the SW (near the jeeps) and the NW cave, with the SW enemy arriving first.

While staying on the east side of the pillar, target and defeat the SW enemy. Then, turn north and wait briefly before moving counterclockwise around the pillar to engage and defeat the NW enemy.

The next sequence involves two enemies appearing in the NW and SE, with a third enemy emerging from the NE cave. Engage the SE enemy first, then quickly move towards the NE cave to confront the third enemy.

After defeating the third enemy, head west to engage and defeat the sixth enemy. Take cover behind the stone pillar again.

The final enemy will appear from the SE. You are now shielded from them and can safely defeat them.

A cutscene can interrupt the battle; if it occurs at a bad moment, reload your save.

Collect SEVEN items scattered where enemies fell: 3x Uzi clips, 2x small medipacks, 1x large medipack, and the Ignition Key for the Jeep (items 62-68).

Enter the cave south of the entrance to find Secret #19, containing 3x red shotgun shells (items 69-71). You'll need to press the Action button three times to collect all items.

Secret #20 is located on a ledge above the entrance. Go to the dark opening in the NE corner, pull up onto the first ledge, and then make a standing jump/grab to a slightly slanted ledge ahead and to the right. From there, pull up to the upper ledge for Secret #20, which includes 2x red shotgun shells (items 72, 73), 1x small medipack (item 74), and Uzi clips (item 75).

To return to the ground, you can backtrack or slide down one of the sloped sides of the entrance opening. Head towards your vehicle.
