Walkthrough

Upon entering, you will encounter two lions. Climb onto the ledge on the left to shoot them from safety.

Go right and push the block forward (West) to open the door.

Head towards the building and kill the 2 gorillas from outside, being careful NOT to step on the tile with the Omega symbol. If they get too close, backhop off the front ledge; they cannot follow you there.

Option 1: Shoot It Out (Costs Life)
- Head inside the building and throw both switches. You can step on the Omega tile for this option. Kill the gorilla that comes from your left.

Exit the building and stop in the gap between the ledge and the first line of pillars.

When Pierre appears, start side jumping left and right while firing. If he advances, jump over him, twist or roll, and continue side jumping while firing.

When Pierre has taken sufficient damage, hide behind a pillar so he is no longer visible. He will disappear. If using updated graphics, he will run away when his health meter is about half full. Aim to limit life loss to 20-25%.

Option 2: Avoid Pierre (Tricky Jumps, Saves Health)
- To avoid this battle, do not step on the Omega symbol tile in the doorway to the building.

Tips

There are 4 Secrets in this level, which are particularly difficult to obtain.
There are 19 pickups and 23 kills in total.
This level contains 1 breakaway tile.
In New Game+, there are 5 Save Crystals.
It is recommended to skip the first gunfight with Pierre in New Game+ to save time and grief.
Be very careful in the tall room with the locks at the bottom; one false step can lead to a Game Over.
It is advised to skip the last Secret in New Game+ due to the time and risk involved for a modest return.
For the final battle with Pierre, 4 shotgun shells followed by hiding behind a column is an effective strategy.
Enemies like Pierre will go away on their own after taking a certain amount of damage.
These enemies generally have a preferred avenue of escape; blocking it can cause them to continue firing.
Once an enemy has taken sufficient damage and is not visible, they will disappear.
Damage is inversely proportional to distance; shooting from a distance while hopping side to side can be safer.
In Remastered versions, there are Trophies to be earned, some of which can be acquired by reloading after earning one to get another.
