To earn Simoleons (the in-game currency), you need to get your Sim a job. There are two ways to find employment:

  1. Newspaper: This is free but only offers one job listing per day.
  2. PC: This requires purchasing a PC (or renting it using the buy, use, and sell back method) but offers three different job listings per day.

Once your Sim has a job, a carpool will arrive at your house before your work hours begin. You must click on the carpool and choose to go to work. If you don't go to work, you have a one-hour window from the carpool's arrival until it leaves. If you miss work for one day, you will receive a warning phone call. If you miss work for two consecutive days, your Sim will be fired.

Promotions are achieved by meeting specific skill and friends requirements. Keep your Sim in a good mood while going to work to improve their job performance and get closer to a promotion. Conversely, sending your Sim to work in a bad mood can lead to a demotion. It is advisable to skip a day to improve your Sim's mood rather than risk a demotion.

After reaching the final career stage, random events may automatically shift your Sim to a different career. If you wish to return to your old job, you can quit and start it again from scratch.

  • Always monitor your Sim's needs, especially Energy and Hygiene, while they are at work, as these will decrease.
  • Prioritize your Sim's mood to avoid demotions and increase the chances of promotion.
  • If you are demoted or want to change careers, quitting and restarting a career is a viable option, as your Sim will progress faster due to existing skills.
