Complete The Legend of Zelda's Isolated Plateau shrines to unlock the paraglider. Learn to use Magnesis and Remote Bomb Runes.
Walkthrough
- 1Follow the old man a short distance; he will point you towards a glowing building across a lake. This is your first shrine.
- 2To reach the first shrine (Oman Au Shrine), you can either clear the enemy camp to the right of the lake (containing four Bokoblins and a Treasure Chest with a Traveller's Sword), then swim across, or circle around to the left, or swim directly across the middle.
- 3Upon reaching the far side, approach the shrine and interact with the pedestal by the door to add it as a fast travel point on your map and gain access.
- 4Inside the Oman Au Shrine (Magnesis Trial), head to the far left corner and place your Shieka Slate (a device used in the game) on the pedestal to unlock the Magnesis Rune.
- 5The Magnesis Rune allows you to identify and manipulate metal objects, which appear highlighted in purple when active and turn yellow when targeted. These can be used to remove obstacles, open doors, create bridges, or platforms.
- 6Magnesis can be used in combat by dropping metal objects on enemies, pushing them off ledges, or creating moving cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) against projectiles and lasers.
- 7In the environment, use Magnesis to create bridges or pull buried metal treasure chests from the ground.
- 8Use the Magnesis room to pick up a large metal slab on the floor to reveal a passage below, then drop down.
- 9In the next room, use Magnesis on a single metal block in a wall of blocks to pull it out, or use another metal block behind stairs to push over the other stone blocks. Climb over the wall.
- 10In the next area, kill the Guardian Scout. Use the metal bridge to reach the central platform, then use Magnesis to pick up the bridge and place it on the other end to reach the far side.
- 11Use Magnesis to open the large door. Approach and interact with the glowing altar at the top of the stairs for a scene. This rewards you with a Spirit Orb and completes the Shrine.
- 12After the scene, you will be back outside. The Old Man will explain Spirit Orbs and fast travel using the Shieka Slate.
- 13Use fast travel to the Great Plateau Tower and speak with the Old Man again. He will give you a tutorial on the Shieka Spyglass and placing pins on the map (a marker on your minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen), which is a small map displayed on your HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap), or Heads-Up Display).
- 14Place pins on the three visible Shrines from the Tower: one south amongst ruins, one southwest on a ridge, and one west on a hill.
- 15Drop down the tower to ground level and head south towards the closest Shrine in the ruins. Be aware of sleeping Guardians, Keese (flying bat-like creatures), and Bokoblin Skeletons. If you get too close, Guardians will wake up and shoot laser beams, which are an instant kill at this stage.
- 16Use ruined walls as cover to avoid incoming attacks and climb over walls to reach your destination.
- 17The easiest way to reach the Shrine is to run along the cliff edge of the Great Plateau, kill the Bokoblin Skeletons, and then climb over the back wall when you reach the Shrine's location.
- 18Approach the shrine and interact with the pedestal by the door to add it as a fast travel point and gain access.
- 19Inside the Ja Baij Shrine (Remote Bomb Trial), head to the far left corner of the first room and place your Shieka Slate on the pedestal to unlock the Remote Bomb Rune.
- 20The Remote Bomb Rune allows you to create an infinite number of remote bombs (with a brief cooldown), which can be detonated with a specific button command. It is advisable to move out of the explosion range before detonating.
- 21There are two types of remote bombs: spherical (which roll) and cubic (which stay put and fit specific sockets), useful for puzzles.
- 22Remote bombs can be used in combat to damage enemies, unlock blocked entrances, and destroy weak walls (often indicated by cracks).
Tips
- There are 120 Shrines in total, but you need to complete the first four on the Great Plateau to progress.
- The Magnesis Rune highlights manipulable metal objects in purple.
- The laser beams from Guardians are an instant kill early in the game, so use cover effectively.
- Use the Shieka Spyglass and place pins on your map to mark important locations.
- The Remote Bomb Rune has a cooldown period after each use.
