Cards are a new system to the Paper Mario universe. For a complete list of cards, see section 6)- catch cards.
Cards can be obtained in two ways: by finding them directly on the field, which is the only method for acquiring rare cards, or by using a Catch Card or Catch Card SP on an enemy. If the Catch Card or Catch Card SP is successful, the enemy will be turned into its own card.
Cards are always equipped and do not degrade over time. Each card you possess for a specific enemy doubles your attack damage against that enemy.
Tips
- Finding rare cards on the field is the only way to obtain them.
- Using Catch Cards or Catch Card SP is an alternative method to acquire enemy cards.
- Having multiple cards of the same enemy significantly increases your damage output against them.
