How to use the table of contents:

Most guides, including this one, have a table of contents with little codes next to each section. They look something like [0201] or [0211]. These are your magic keys!

On the bottom screen, the Piranha Plant waits while your character is on the top screen, tied to a balloon moving downward. There are 6 bomb seeds on the top screen, 3 on each side. Press the A button repeatedly to stay at the top and avoid being eaten.

The Piranha Plant will begin sucking bomb seeds. Avoid the falling bomb seeds while continuing to mash the A button to avoid being sucked in. Touching a bomb seed will push you down but not cost a life.

After eating bomb seeds, the Plant throws them back to the top screen. You do not need to mash the A button here as the Plant does not suck you in. Avoid all but one of the bombs.

Move close to one bomb seed and press the B button ONCE to catch it. You cannot catch another bomb if you are already carrying one, and hitting another bomb while carrying one will cause you to lose a life and your bomb. Catching the latest bomb is recommended.

Hold the bomb. When the Piranha Plant opens its mouth to suck more bomb seeds, quickly press the B button again to release the bomb. It will fall into the Plant's mouth and explode, causing it to lose one life. If you do not release the bomb in time, it will explode and harm you.

Repeat this process three times to defeat the Piranha Plant. The number of bomb seeds the Plant sucks increases with each life it loses: 2 seeds initially, then 3, and 4 for its last life.

Tips

If you touch a bomb seed, it will push you down but you do not lose a life.
If you are carrying a bomb and hit another bomb, you will lose a life and your current bomb.
Catch the latest bomb seed if possible.
Release the bomb when the Piranha Plant opens its mouth to suck more seeds.

Memorize the order in which Hammer Bro hits the four colored drums on the top and bottom screens.

Use your stylus to touch the corresponding drums in the correct sequence.

If you are too slow, music notes will hit you, causing you to lose a life.

If you are fast enough, music notes will reflect back at Hammer Bro, causing him to lose a life.

Repeat this process three times. The number of drum sequences you need to remember increases with each life Hammer Bro loses: first 3, then 4, and finally 5.

Tips

You should be able to beat Hammer Bro in under 30 seconds with a good memory, or one minute max if your memory is failing.

You start at the foot of a Donkey Kong statue on Board 3, DK's Stone Statue, with Dry Bones sleeping nearby.

To get Stars, you must climb to the top of the statue and trade coins for all the Stars you want.

Tips

The shop is located at (D,e).
An item spot is located at (F,h).
Blue spots grant +3 coins, and red spots subtract -3 coins.

Controls:

Use the directional buttons to move.
Press A to jump. Press A again in mid-air to ground-pound.
Press B to punch.
Press L or R to move camera focus.
Press X to focus the camera on the boss (Zoom out).

To defeat Dry Bones, you must cast a magic spell from magic stones on the ground to paralyze and defeat it.

Stomp on the correct magic stone(s) by pressing A, then press A again while in the air to activate the spell, while avoiding Dry Bones's attacks.

Use the map on the top screen (minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen)) to determine your position, Dry Bones's location, and the next magic stone to stomp on.

You can zoom out the camera and focus it on the boss by pressing the X button once. Press X again to return to the default camera view. Rotate the view left or right using the L or R buttons.

Dry Bones attacks by throwing items like red berries, bones, and small tornadoes, and by jumping high to land on you.

On later stages, you must stomp on the magic stones in the correct order for the spell to work. The order is shown on the map after hitting Dry Bones and will repeat.
