Navigate Super Mario Bros. 3's challenging World 7, Pipe Land. This guide provides walkthroughs for levels 7-1 through 7-4, detailing secrets, power-ups, and strategies for completion.
Walkthrough
- 1Level 7-1: Enter the door, defeat the Red Koopa Troopa, and enter a pipe. Time your descent to avoid Piranha Plants and ascend another pipe. A difficult jump over a ? Block ledge can reveal a 1-Up Mushroom. Take the left pipe, use a Red Koopa Troopa on ? Blocks for a power-up, and use a Note Block to reach a pipe. Continue past enemies to a dual Note Block set, then use another Note Block to reach wooden ledges. Raccoon/Tanooki Mario can fly up the left side for a shortcut and coins. After passing through a pipe, use a Green Koopa Troopa to bounce off of and reach blocks leading to the final pipe and the Slot Box.
- 2Level 7-2: This is the White Mushroom House level. Collect at least 46 Coins to make the White Mushroom House appear. Using a Frog Suit is highly recommended. Go right, use an Ice Block on a ? Block for a power-up, and enter a pipe. Collect coins on the far left, trigger a P-Switch, and swim at top speed to collect coins before they revert to bricks. Head back up, defeat enemies, and jump to reveal hidden Note Blocks. Enter the right pipe for a power-up, then the left pipe. Swim left, head topside, and cross a Note Block bridge. Jump off the seventh Note Block from the left to reveal a hidden 1-Up Mushroom. Continue right and enter the first pipe leading underground for a power-up, then exit via another pipe. Head right to the Slot Box.
- 3Level 7-3: This level allows for potential invincibility. Hit the first ? Block for a Starman and run through enemies. Hit the left-most ? Block on the bottom set for another Starman. Continue right, hitting the left-most ? Block on the bottom set for a third Starman. Run down the hill through Spinies. Jump over a Venus Fire Trap and hit a brick for a Starman. Lakitu appears; you can hit a ? Block above for a power-up. Hit a brick for a P-Switch (optional for coins). Continue right, hitting bricks for successive Starmen. Jump across gaps, passing Paratroopa Koopas, to reach the Slot Box. Waiting for Lakitu and Spiny Eggs can yield a 1-Up.
- 4Level 7-4: If you have Raccoon or Tanooki Mario, you can fly over obstacles. (The source text cuts off here).
