Master the Number Rings in Sonic Forces! Learn how to unlock them, collect them in order, and what rewards await. Get the best Final Scores!

Hey there! So, you've probably noticed these special rings popping up after you've snagged all the Red Star Rings in a stage. These are the Number Rings, making a comeback from Sonic Lost World, and they're all about racking up points for your Final Scores. Think of them as a fun bonus challenge!

Once you've collected all 5 Red Star Rings in a Story Stage, the Number Rings will unlock for that stage. You'll start seeing them in future playthroughs, and a little Gray Number Ring Icon will pop up next to the Red Star Ring Icon on your World Map and Stage Select screen.

Now, here's the catch with Number Rings: they're a bit of a sequence puzzle. You have to collect them in a specific order, starting with 5, then finding 4, then 3, then 2, and finally 1. It's like a countdown!

Warning: If you or your friends (Modern Sonic, Avatars, or Classic Sonic) accidentally break the sequence – say you grab the 3 before the 4 – all the remaining Number Rings for that run will just vanish. Poof! Gone. If that happens, you'll need to either Restart the Stage or intentionally meet your demise, get a Retry, and then the Number Rings will respawn. Make sure you're ready to start the sequence over from the last Star Post!

Other Notes about Number Rings:

  • Besides extra points for your score, and potentially unlocking Achievements/Trophies, the main reward for collecting them in the Nintendo Switch version is unlocking the Silver Moon Rings. So, it's mostly about bragging rights and those sweet, sweet points!
