Green Hill Zone Act 1: The first Red Star Ring is located shortly after the first set of boost pads. It's high up on the right side of the path.

Green Hill Zone Act 2: After the section with the rotating platforms, look for a series of springs. The ring is hidden behind a destructible wall to the left.

Aquarium Park Act 1: Near the end of the act, there's a section with underwater currents. The ring is located in a hidden alcove above the main path.

Aquarium Park Act 2: After passing through the large pipe, you'll enter an area with multiple branching paths. Take the upper path, and the ring will be visible on a small platform.
