Deep within the treacherous canyons of the Serpent's Tooth desert lies a hidden cache, rumored to be left behind by a legendary scavenger named Kaelen the Swift. This cache is said to contain valuable resources and perhaps even a rare piece of equipment. To find it, players must first locate Kaelen's last known campsite, marked by a tattered banner and a pile of discarded tools near the oasis known as the Emerald Pool. At the campsite, a riddle etched onto a weathered stone tablet provides the first clue: "Where the sun bleeds into the sand, and the serpent's shadow falls across the land, seek the hollow that drinks the light." This riddle points towards a specific rock formation that casts a long shadow at sunset. wait until the in-game time reaches dusk and observe the shadows cast by the prominent rock spires. The "hollow that drinks the light" refers to a small cave entrance that becomes illuminated by the setting sun. Upon entering this cave, players will face a series of environmental hazards and minor guardians. The first challenge is a pressure plate trap that triggers a volley of poisoned darts, dealing 2d4 poison damage to anyone stepping on it. Players must use a character with a high Dexterity (DC 14) to disarm the trap or find a way to bypass it. Further inside, the path is guarded by 3 Sand Scuttlers, each with 25 HP and a pincer attack that deals 1d8 piercing damage and has a 25% chance to inflict bleeding, causing 1d4 damage per turn for 3 turns. The final chamber of the cache is protected by a magical barrier that requires a specific sequence of levers to be pulled. The correct sequence is hinted at by markings on the cave walls, resembling constellations. Once the barrier is down, players will find Kaelen's cache. Inside, they can loot 200 gold pieces, 5 Potions of Enduring Fortitude, and a unique item: the Sandstrider Boots, which grant the wearer increased movement speed in desert environments and advantage on Dexterity saving throws against traps.
