Complete the Edge of the World chapter in Ryse: Son of Rome. Learn how to defeat minotaur enemies and the boss Glott.
Walkthrough
- 1Slowly advance through the forest with your troops until you cross a wooden bridge.
- 2Prepare to be attacked by minotaur men. Note their weapons: axe-wielding enemies require dodges with roll, dual-wielding enemies are best handled with Focus followed by rapid attacks, and shielded enemies require breaking their defense before attacking.
- 3Eliminate all enemies in the initial area.
- 4After a (cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically)), proceed through the forest, quickly tapping A to break through any traps encountered.
- 5Continue onward, engaging horned enemies.
- 6Collect projectiles and use them on enemies firing flaming arrows. Use large rocks for (cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects)) (a defensive position), peeking out to shoot before returning to cover.
- 7You will encounter horned minotaur men burning soldiers alive and find a cage of your men. Use projectiles to eliminate as many enemies as possible before jumping down to the cage. More enemies will appear upon your descent.
- 8Kill all remaining enemies.
- 9Go to the cage gate and press X to free the soldiers.
- 10Escort the freed soldiers to the next camp and locate another cage of soldiers.
- 11Eliminate all enemies in the vicinity.
- 12Hold LB to order your troops to open the cages.
- 13A flag will appear in the center of the area; go to it and tap A.
- 14Assign your archers: placing them left fires at enemy archers, placing them right targets moving enemies. Choose a position to cover your weaknesses.
- 15Man the scorpion ballista and defend against incoming enemy waves.
- 16After a few waves, another flag will appear. Go to it to advance through the ravine with your troops.
- 17Push the stick forward, holding A to take defensive positions with your shields against incoming arrows.
- 18Hold RT and release to have Marius and troops toss projectiles at enemies, killing them and continuing forward.
- 19When you see soldiers in a cage again, they will be on fire. The number of soldiers you have is shown as a bar in the upper right-hand corner of the (HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)) (Heads-Up Display). Killing enemies quickly conserves soldiers.
- 20Minotaur men will attempt to set soldiers on fire, indicated by an objective marker. Prioritize these enemies immediately, using projectiles or (Focus) (a combat mechanic that slows time) if necessary.
- 21After a period of combat, a boss battle with Glott will commence. Glott cancels (Focus) attempts.
- 22Glott's attacks mostly require rolling to evade rather than countering. He typically performs two attacks, so be prepared to roll twice before attacking. Continue this pattern until his health is just below halfway, then complete the (QTEs) (Quick Time Events).
- 23In the second stage, the strategy remains similar, but Glott becomes more aggressive and his attacks are harder to dodge.
Tips
- Pay close attention to enemy attack patterns to determine the best approach.

- Prioritize enemies attempting to set soldiers on fire, as they are marked with an objective marker.
- Conserve your soldiers by defeating enemies efficiently.
- Against Glott, focus on evasion and counter-attacks rather than relying on (Focus).
