Learn to control weapon recoil in PUBG: Battlegrounds. Discover SMGs, ARs, LMGs, DMRs, and SGs suitable for beginners and advanced players. Improve your aim!

New to PUBG: Battlegrounds and struggling with weapon recoil? This guide breaks down weapons by type, highlighting those with manageable recoil for beginners. Learn which guns excel at different ranges and how to build an effective loadout to help you secure that Chicken Dinner.

SMGs: For close-quarters combat, consider the PP-19 Bizon and UMP45 for their low recoil, despite a higher time-to-kill (TTK). The MP5K is also a viable option, especially when fully kitted. The Vector and Micro-Uzi are excellent for very close engagements.

Assault Rifles (ARs): The SCAR-L and M416 are recommended for their manageable recoil. While the SCAR-L may not be popular, its friendly recoil makes it a good starting point. The M416, though recently nerfed, can still be effective. The G36C and QBZ also offer good recoil control (note: G36C and QBZ may not be on all maps). For high-tier ARs with low recoil, look for the Groza and AUG, found only in Care Packages.

Light Machine Guns (LMGs): The crate-exclusive MG3 boasts gentle recoil for an LMG. The DP-28 requires more practice, while the M249 has very high recoil.

Designated Marksman Rifles (DMRs): Mastering DMR recoil is key for sustained fire. The Mini14 and QBU are good choices (QBU may not be on all maps). The SKS is decent, and the SLR has high recoil. The Mk14, a crate-exclusive, is powerful with low recoil (especially in single-fire) and has a full-auto mode, making it arguably the best DMR. The VSS is unique, coming with a 4x scope and suppressor, but has low bullet velocity; it also supports full-auto fire with manageable recoil.

Shotguns (SGs): Ideal for very close range, the DBS is considered the best for its damage and speed.

Loadout Recommendations:

  • Close Range: SMG or SG.
  • Mid-to-Long Range: DMR or SR (Sniper Rifle). ARs can be adapted to single-fire mode for longer ranges but have lower effective distances than DMRs/SRs. The Mk47 Mutant and M16A4 can serve as budget DMRs.
  • General Loadout: An SMG or AR paired with a DMR or SR is a common and effective setup.

While SRs offer high damage per shot, DMRs are often preferred for their higher firing rate and forgiving nature, allowing for quicker follow-up shots.
