Sight attachments in PUBG: Battlegrounds offer significant advantages for aiming and engaging targets at various distances. This guide covers the different types of sights, their functionalities, and how to effectively use them.

Sights

Sights, unlike iron sights, provide a magnified view and can be further zoomed by pressing the 'Shift' key. They are particularly effective for close-quarters combat and are often preferred over scopes in very close-range engagements. The Canted Sight, introduced with the Vikendi map, allows players to equip both a scope and a canted sight on a single weapon. This versatility enables readiness for both distant and close-range encounters with one weapon, freeing up the secondary weapon slot. The Laser Sight is beneficial for players who prefer hip firing, as it can save Aim Down Sight (ADS) time in very close engagements. However, hip firing is less accurate than ADS.

Scopes (Telescopic Sights)

Scopes are ideal for spotting and engaging enemies at long distances. The higher the magnification, the further you can spot targets. When using a scope, it's crucial to account for bullet drop, especially on longer shots. Two methods can be employed:

  1. Aiming Higher: Compensate for bullet drop by aiming above your target.
  2. Zeroing: Adjust your weapon's zeroing distance to match the estimated range of your target. The default zeroing is typically 100m. Estimating distance can be aided by the training mode's dummy targets or by using the in-game map and counting squares (each small square represents 100m). Zeroing is adjusted using the 'Page Up' and 'Page Down' keys.

More on Zeroing

The 2x scope primarily uses a center dot and is best suited for standard 100m zeroing. For targets beyond 100m, aiming higher might be necessary. Scopes like the 3x, 4x, and 6x feature notches below the center dot that correspond to increased zeroing distances:

  • 3x Scope: 1st notch (350m), 2nd notch (500m), 3rd notch (650m).
  • 4x Scope: 1st notch (300m), 2nd notch (400m), 3rd notch (500m), 4th notch (600m).
  • 6x Scope: 1st notch (300m), 2nd notch (400m), 3rd notch (500m), 4th notch (600m), 5th notch (700m), 6th notch (800m).

Note: These zeroing distances for 3x, 4x, and 6x scopes are approximate and may vary slightly based on the weapon's range. The center dot generally corresponds to 100m.

The 8x and 15x scopes offer manual zeroing adjustments in 100m increments using 'Page Up' and 'Page Down'. This allows precise zeroing for specific distances, enabling aiming with the center dot without manual compensation.
