Efficient Mt. Battle Grinding

Learn the best spots and strategies for grinding Pokémon levels after the Elite Four in Pokémon Champions, including tips for specific types like Water, Fire, Steel, Flying, Ghost, and Rock.

Grinding Pokemon Levels

After you've conquered the Elite Four, you might notice the other trainers' Pokémon have gotten a serious level boost. To keep up, you'll need to do some grinding. It's a good idea to have the Pokémon you want to train hold a Lucky Egg for that sweet experience boost!

Secret Base Training

Your Secret Base is a great spot for training! Cool Trainer Trainer is your infinite battle partner there. They primarily use Audino (6x), which gives a decent 2 HP EV yield. A pro tip: while the level 100 selection is available, the level 90 option is actually more beneficial for both HP EV gains and overall experience. Don't overlook this consistent training partner!

Prices:

Level Cost
10 $3,000
20 $6,000
30 $9,000
40 $12,000
50 $15,000
60 $18,000
70 $21,000
80 $24,000
90 $27,000
100 $30,000

Grinding After the Elite Four

The level curve really ramps up after you defeat the Elite Four. You'll almost certainly need to grind battles against high-level Pokémon to catch up. Remember to equip a Lucky Egg on the Pokémon you're training for extra experience!

Leveling Up Water Pokemon:

Head to the base of Mount Nova. You'll find trainers and wild Pokémon here that are great for training your Water-types.

Leveling Up Fire Pokemon:

Make your way to the very top of Mount Nova. Most of the Pokémon you'll encounter there are Ice-types, making them a prime target for your Fire Pokémon.

Leveling Up Steel Pokemon:

Just like with Fire-types, the top of Mount Nova is your go-to spot. The abundance of Ice-type Pokémon makes it perfect for training your Steel-types.

Leveling Up Flying Pokemon:

After defeating Wilson at his Hall of Champions, the Timelocked Temple becomes accessible. It's packed with Volcarona, which are easily defeated by Flying-type moves. Just be prepared for their Flame Body attack – keep some Burn Heals handy!

Leveling Up Ghost Pokemon:

Visit the Midnight Mansion after defeating Odin/Zeus. You can catch either Darkrai (Zeta Exclusive) or Cresselia (Omicron Exclusive) and then battle within the mansion itself.

Leveling Up Rock Pokemon:

The Timelocked Temple, accessible after beating Wilson at his Hall of Champions, is crawling with Volcaronas. These are especially good targets for Rock-type moves since they're 4x effective! Again, watch out for Flame Body and stock up on Burn Heals.
