Enter the Academy Ace Tournament

Learn how to enter and win the Academy Ace Tournament in Pokémon Scarlet. Includes opponent lineups, Pokémon types, and recommended strategies for each round.

After you evaluate the Gym Leaders, meet Nemona at the front desk in the entrance hall. A staffer explains the rules of the tournament. You have to win four times in a row to take it all. Talk to the staffer when you are ready to enter the Academy Ace Tournament.

The first round Your first opponent (Arven) has six Pokémon:

• Greedent (Lv. 67)
• Toadscrual (Lv. 67)
• Garganacl (Lv. 67)
• Scovillain (Lv. 67)
• Cloyster (Lv. 67)
• Mabosstiff (Lv. 68) with Tera-type Dark

Use a Fighting-type against Greedent. Use a Grass-, Ice-, Bug- or Flying-type against Toadscrual. Use a Fighting-, Grass-, Ground-, Steel- or Water-type against Garganacl. Use a Flying- or Poison-type against Scovillain. Use an Electric-, Fighting-, or Steel-type against Cloyster.

The final Pokémon of this opponent has Tera-type Dark. Use a Bug-, Fairy- or Fighting-types and be careful with Ghost- and Psychic-types.
