Route 5

Your friendly guide to Pokemon GO's Route 5! Discover Pokemon, find items, use the Day Care, and navigate the Underground Path to Route 6. Let's go!

Alright, so you've made it through Cerulean City and you're ready to head south. Route 5 is next up, and it's a bit of a winding path with some useful stuff along the way. Don't worry, I'll walk you through it!

As you start heading down Route 5, you'll notice a bunch of ledges. Just keep dropping down them. While you're exploring, feel free to try and catch some Pokemon! Here's what you might run into:

Keep dropping down those ledges. Eventually, you'll find a ledge with 3 Great Balls on it. Grab those, and keep going. You'll soon spot a building. Head around the right side of it and go inside – it's the Day Care Center!

This is a super handy spot. You can leave one Pokemon here, and it'll slowly gain experience and level up over time. It's not quite like the later games where you can breed them, but it's still great for powering up a specific Pokemon you want to train. Feel free to leave one if you'd like!

Once you're done at the Day Care, head out. Go south-west of the building to snag an Ether. Then, head east to find 3 Nanab Berries. Finally, make your way south. You'll see your rival waiting for you. He's not trying to get too close, just helping you out by removing something from your hair – and hey, you get 3 Revives out of the deal!

Now, head into the Underground Path. Just go downstairs and follow the path. It's a pretty straightforward tunnel. You'll find a Repel along the way, and then a Lure. Keep going, and you'll emerge on the other side, which leads you into Route 6. Congrats, you've made it!
