Begin your adventure in Pokemon GO! Learn how to catch your first Pokemon, get your starter, and receive your Pokedex and Town Map in Pallet Town.

Alright, let's get this adventure started! First things first, head downstairs out of your room. Your rival's gonna show up, you'll have a quick chat, and then they'll head off. Once they're gone, go downstairs and step outside.

After that sweet panoramic view, make your way east. You're looking for the gap that leads north, situated between your house and the one to its right. Head towards that tall grass, and you'll spot Professor Oak. Go on over to him!

He'll start chatting with some Pidgeys, and then they'll all fly away. Oak will have a quick word with you, and then BAM! A wild Pokemon appears! Depending on which version you're playing, it'll be a Pikachu for Let's Go, Pikachu! or an Eevee for Let's Go, Eevee!. This is where you'll get your first tutorial on how to catch Pokemon. Just follow the on-screen prompts – the exact steps will vary a bit depending on which controller you're using. Once you toss a Pokeball and snag that first Pokemon, congratulations, you've caught one!

That Pokeball will then zoom off, and you'll end up chasing it right into Oak's Lab. Head over to the jumping Pokeball and interact with it. This is how you officially 'choose' your starter Pokemon! You can even give it a nickname if you like. Then, get ready for your rival to pick the opposite starter Pokemon to yours (so if you got Pikachu, they'll get Eevee, and vice-versa).

As you head to leave, Professor Oak will stop you and hand over a Pokedex. Now head outside for real this time. Your Mum will be waiting for you and will give you a super useful Town Map. With all that sorted, it's time to head north into Route 1!
