    Start by calling out an even number of each Pikmin color and have both captains. Leave one captain at the Onion.

    Head down the ramp and swing right to an incomplete bridge. Throw one captain and a small group of Pikmin of each color over the gap.

    Attack the nearby Dirt Wall with the Pikmin. Ignore the creature in the water for now.

    Swap to the captain across the water and have them work on the bridge parts and the Dirt Wall.

    Once the main group is done, run through the ex-gate and defeat the Whiptongue Bulborb. Consider using a Spicy Spray.

    Nearby, a Pocked Airhead is buried in the sand. Use Yellow Pikmin to unearth it.

    Swap back to the captain on the other side of the river. Head into the next small area and defeat the Swooping Snitchbug. Use Yellow Pikmin to bring it down, then swarm it.

    Once the bridge is complete, have the other two captains converge with the river explorer.

    Head right towards a Tree Stump. Throw two captains and ten Pikmin to the stump, then throw one captain and ten Pikmin to the ledge beyond.

    Have this third captain lead the Pikmin to push the Paper Bag Ramp down, granting access to the Meerslug boss arena.

    Return all non-Red Pikmin to the Onion. Take as many Red Pikmin as possible to the boss arena. Have your other captains wait at the Onion.

    Enter the boss arena. Lock onto the Sandbelching Meerslug whenever it appears and charge it. Using Ultra Spicy Spray can help. Stay close to the green blob on your Gamepad to avoid projectiles.

    After defeating the Meerslug, have Pikmin collect the Mobile Phone and Watermelon pieces. You can also drag the Meerslug corpse back for additional resources.

    Have the boss captain return to the Onion. Swap to your other captains and enter the cave behind you, backtracking to where Alph started.

    Dispatch the slug inside and continue. A small family of Bulborbs are guarding a Fig hanging from a branch to the left. Throw eight Pikmin onto the fig to detach it.

    (Optional) On the opposite side of the cave, throw captains up ledges to find an upgrade for electric shock resistance.

    Return to the area with the bridge. Take a troupe of Red Pikmin over the bridge and head left, under a waterfall (the peach there is inaccessible for now).

    Continue past the waterfall to find Slooches guarding a Lesser Mock Bottom. Defeat the Slooches and collect the treasure.

    Send a captain and Yellow Pikmin to the Dirt Mound next to the Rock Wall by your Onion.

    Digging here will yield two bomb rocks. Use these to destroy the Rock Wall, creating a shortcut.

    More bomb rocks can be found near the Slooches. You will need three bomb rocks in total to demolish the wall.
