Master Phasmophobia's equipment! Learn about starter, optional, and truck gear, their uses, prices, and how they help you identify ghosts and complete objectives.
In Phasmophobia, equipment is crucial for identifying the ghost type and completing objectives. Players can purchase various tools using in-game currency earned from investigations. This guide covers all available equipment, from essential starter gear to specialized optional items and truck-mounted devices.
Mechanics
Equipment can be bought and sold in the Shop while in the lobby. If a player dies during an investigation, they lose all equipment brought on the mission, except for the default starter equipment. Equipment not lost upon death is automatically returned. Consumable items like incense and sanity medication are not lost if the player survives but must be repurchased if used. Players can store up to 999 of each item. Electronic equipment can be disrupted by ghosts when they are visible, especially during hunts or manifestations. Holding active electronic equipment during a hunt may attract ghosts.
There are three main categories of equipment:
- Starter equipment
- Optional equipment
- Truck equipment

Starter equipment is always provided at the beginning of an investigation, with additional pieces available for purchase.
