Gem socketing in Peekaboo is a core system for enhancing your gear and customizing your character's stats and abilities. By finding or crafting gems and inserting them into the appropriate slots on your weapons, armor, and accessories, you can significantly boost your combat effectiveness and tailor your build to your playstyle.

The process of gem socketing begins with acquiring gems. These can be found as loot from defeated enemies, discovered in chests, obtained through quests, or crafted at specialized crafting stations. Gems come in various types, each offering different stat bonuses or effects. Common examples include gems that increase attack power, critical hit chance, elemental resistance, or even grant unique active abilities. The rarity and power of a gem often correlate with its visual appearance and the difficulty of obtaining it.

Once you have a gem, you'll need to find an item with an available gem slot. Most higher-tier equipment will come with one or more slots. You can identify these slots by looking for specific icons on the item's description or by interacting with a blacksmith or jeweler NPC. The type of slot might also be important, as some gems may only fit into specific types of sockets (e.g., offensive, defensive, utility).
