Paper Mario: Color Splash Part 23 covers the Pokey battle and Decalburg shop. Learn strategies and item costs.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the first turn against the Pokey, use your strongest hammer attacks on its head.
  2. 2
After the Pokey grows a segment, guarantee two slots on the Battle Spinner (a mechanic that allows for bonus effects during battle) and use chained Hopslippers for high damage (10 points per sticker).
  3. 3
When the Pokey has 3 or 4 segments, use the Bat sticker (highly recommended for 30 points of damage per segment) or other high-damage stickers to force it downward and mitigate incoming damage.
  4. 4
Continue dealing high damage with Hopslippers or Special Stickers.
  5. 5
Once the Pokey reaches 150 HP, you can use stickers like Shiny/Regular/Flashy Jumps.
  6. 6
Defeat smaller green Pokeys summoned by the main Pokey using Line Jumps, Shells, or Special Stickers like Shaved Ice.
  7. 7
When the Pokey has less than 100 HP, it will use a spinning head attack that deals 2 points of damage per hit; dodge by repeatedly pressing the A button.
  8. 8
When the Pokey's HP is very low, it may heal using photosynthesis for 10 HP per heal; continue attacking to defeat it.
Tips
  • For each 50 HP the Pokey loses, another segment becomes unusable.
  • The Bat sticker is highly recommended for its high damage output per segment.
  • The spinning head attack can be dodged by repeatedly pressing A.
  • The Pokey's photosynthesis heal is not very potent.
