Thermal Mass & Heat Sinks

Leverage thermal mass and heat sinks in Oxygen Not Included, using liquids and Abyssalite to manage and store excess heat.

Utilize materials with high thermal mass (like water or crude oil) as heat sinks to absorb and store excess heat. Build large reservoirs of these liquids around heat-producing machinery. This can buffer temperature fluctuations and provide a more stable environment for your cooling systems to work with. Abyssalite is also excellent for insulation.
