Part 22

Navigate the treacherous mines in Outlast 2, recording horrific sights and evading enemies. Find batteries, bandages, and uncover the secrets of the Bone Arbor.

Alright, we're heading into Part 22 of Outlast 2, and things are about to get seriously claustrophobic in these mines. Keep your camera ready, because this section is all about recording some truly disturbing stuff and trying not to get caught.

Walkthrough:

1. You'll start off heading right. Immediately get your CAMERA out, because you'll want to record the display you see on the right wall. Doing so will snag you the [_SKINNED MAN_] recording – it's as gruesome as it sounds.
2. Push forward past the skinned man until you reach a cave opening that looks like a dead end. Don't be fooled; there's a small tunnel to your lower left that you can crawl through. Squeeze through and grab the [_BATTERY_] you'll find on the way before pulling yourself up to continue.
3. You'll drop into an open area with a locked door and some lockers you can use to hide. There's another tunnel nearby, but it's a dead end. You can grab another [_BATTERY_] on the left inside this dead-end tunnel and hide in a barrel on the right if you need to. Keep an eye out, though – an enemy might be patrolling past the boards on the left.
4. Head back to the locked door and unlock it. Straight ahead is another locked door, which is a bit of a bummer. Looks like we have to go right. As you do, an enemy will drop down right in the middle of the path, complete with some dramatic music. Uh oh.
5. Now, you *can* retreat back into the previous room and wait a few minutes for the enemy to leave, but the game likely wants you to do this: as you head right, look for a path you can shimmy along to the right. This leads to a safer area in the back with barrels for hiding and a [_BANDAGE_] in the corner. It's a pretty safe spot, even with the enemy that dropped down earlier.
6. From this safe spot, you can head down a tunnel to the left of where you emerged. Open the door there, which leads to the main path. Go RIGHT from here to continue deeper into the mine. Warning: DO NOT open the door directly in front of you. An enemy is waiting right behind it and will likely kill you if you try to go through.
7. Continue down the main minecart path. Keep your camera rolling. Once you reach a particularly disturbing section of the path – you'll know it when you see it after all the screaming – record the walls to your right. This will get you the [_SKIN WALLPAPER_] recording. Seriously, try not to linger here.
8. Don't hang around too long after recording the skin wallpaper; I learned the hard way that it's easy to get killed here. An enemy patrols this area, so be careful. If you get into trouble, you might need to retreat back to the room near the shimmy area, or even all the way back to the first room you dropped into. Enemies tend to avoid the back tunnels in that initial room.
