Master farming and cultivation in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... Learn how to grow crops, flowers, and exploit time to maximize profits and complete the White Moonflower quest.

The protagonist's house in the Village features a field for farming and cultivation. Initially, access to these fields is restricted until you complete two quests for the flower shop owner: "Shopping List" and "A Return to Shopping." The first quest unlocks the fields, while the second expands them to 15 plots. If you progress to Part 2 without completing these quests, you can still unlock the fields and their expansion by purchasing a book from the flower shop for 5,000 Gold.

Once unlocked, you can plant any seeds in the fields. Before planting, you can use Fertilizer to either accelerate growth or increase the yield. Watering the seeds after planting also boosts yield. Plants take a maximum of 24 hours of real-time to fully grow. After an additional 24 hours, the plants will wilt, allowing you to harvest seeds from them. The harvested crops and flowers can be sold for profit or used as items during combat. Most seeds can be found in shops in the Seafront, Village, or Facade, with some exceptions for specific flower seeds.

Time Exploit

To speed up plant growth, especially on PS4/PS5, you cannot simply change the system's time while online or offline. The exploit involves manipulating time zones:

  1. Set your system's time to the earliest time zone (UTC-11:00 American Samoa).
  2. Save your game.
  3. Plant your seeds.
  4. Save your game again in a different slot.
  5. Change your system's time zone to the latest one (UTC+13:00 Independent State of Samoa).
  6. Reload the second save file. The game will now recognize this time change as a full 24-hour passage, allowing you to harvest immediately.

Note that for plants to wilt and provide seeds, you will still need to wait a full 24 hours in real-time after they have grown.

For PC players, an unconfirmed method suggests going offline and changing the system date. This has not been verified.

Growing the White Moonflower (Lunar Tear)

Cultivating a White Moonflower is a lengthy process required for a specific trophy. The shop in Seafront only sells Red, Gold, and Blue flower seeds. White flowers are obtained through cross-pollination:

  • Red + Gold = Peach
  • Blue + Gold = Indigo
  • Red + Indigo = Pink
  • Peach + Pink = White

Flower color is determined by RNG the moment seeds are planted. To maximize your chances:

  1. Ensure you have all 15 fields unlocked.
  2. Save your game. On PS4/PS5, set your time zone to the earliest one (UTC-11:00).
  3. Plant seeds in an alternating pattern, for example, Red - Gold - Red - Gold - Red across each row. Plant all of one color first, then the other, to increase the chance of color change.
  4. Save in a new slot.
  5. Change your time zone to the latest one (UTC+13:00).
  6. Reload the second save. Check the flowers for any color changes.
  7. If no changes occurred, reload the first save, adjust time zones, and retry.
  8. If a color change occurs in a row, leave those flowers. Remove or harvest flowers from rows that did not change.
  9. Before replanting in the cleared rows, ensure your time zone is set to the earliest one.
  10. Repeat this process until you have at least three flowers of each required intermediate color (Peach and Pink).
  11. For PS4/PS5, you may need to wait a day for wilted flowers to provide seeds.
  12. Once you have at least 3 Peach and 3 Pink seeds, plant them in an alternating pattern. Continue the process until a White Moonflower appears. This has the lowest odds, so having more seeds increases your chances.

If you run low on specific seeds (e.g., Indigo), you can plant and wilt those normally to obtain more, though this will extend the cultivation time. A quest also requires 10 pink seeds, necessitating this process.
