Master Attack Types & Special Moves in Melty Blood: Type Lumina. Learn to construct effective combos using Light, Medium, and Heavy attacks.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina features a diverse array of attack types, each with specific properties and uses. Mastering these will allow you to construct effective combos and pressure your opponents. The primary attack buttons are A (Light), B (Medium), and C (Heavy). Combining these with directional inputs creates several normal attacks.

- Normal Attacks: Basic punches, kicks, and weapon swings. Can be chained into each other for simple combos.
- Command Normals: Specific directional inputs combined with an attack button (e.g., Forward + C). Often have unique properties like overheads or longer reach.
- Special Moves: Performed with specific motion inputs (e.g., Quarter Circle Forward + A/B/C). These are character-specific and form the backbone of your offense and defense. They consume no Magic Circuit.
- EX Specials: Enhanced versions of Special Moves, performed with the same motion input but using two attack buttons (e.g., Quarter Circle Forward + A+B). These consume 100% of your Magic Circuit but offer increased damage, speed, or invincibility.
- Moon Skills: Performed by pressing 236 + D (Quarter Circle Forward + D). These are powerful, character-specific moves that consume a portion of your Moon Drive Gauge. They often have unique properties like armor or significant hitstun.
- Arc Drive: A super move performed with 236236 + C (Double Quarter Circle Forward + C). Consumes 300% of your Magic Circuit and deals massive damage.
- Last Arc: A cinematic, ultimate super move performed under specific conditions (usually when your health is low and you have 300% Magic Circuit). The input is typically 236236 + D. It's a powerful comeback mechanic.
