Guide yourself through Mass Effect's Awakening mission. Learn enemy tactics, find hidden loot, and overcome the final mech challenge to secure your escape.
Alright, let's get through this part of Mass Effect, called 'Awakening'. It's not too bad, mostly just getting you warmed up with some new enemy types and a bit of loot hunting.
Walkthrough
- 1Listen and Engage: As soon as you start, you'll get instructions. Your main enemies here are Hacked Mechs. Don't worry too much about them; they're slow and pretty easy to take down. Think of them as target practice for your skills and weapons. They usually show up in groups of three, but they're no real threat.
- 2Explore and Loot: As you move through the facility, you'll find numerous logs. These explain what the place is for. More importantly, there's a good amount of loot scattered around. None of it is hidden too well, so take your time and make sure you grab everything. You'll find items like Wall Safes (worth 975 or 900 credits), Med Kits, and Data Pads (worth 900 or 975 credits).
- 3Pre-Combat Advantage: You won't run into any sudden ambushes. The mechs are often in a suspended state when you first encounter them. This is your chance to get in some free shots and use your skills before they even know you're there.
- 4The Final Push: The most challenging part is the last area, near where you need to evacuate. You'll take out two mechs on the lower floor. As you reach the top of the stairs, two more mechs will activate. At the same time, a door will open, releasing four more mechs.
- 5Tactical Retreat and Cover: Now, there's a route closer to the door, but the mechs will swarm you there. It's better to hang back and go to the right. Use the nearby boxes for cover. This gives you plenty of space to let them come into your range.
- 6Skill Showcase: From cover, you can easily use powers like Overload and Pull, along with any other class skills you have, to take them down. The room also has two hackable items that give you extra credits, so don't miss those.
- 7Evacuation: Once you've cleared out the final group of mechs, make your way to the evacuation shuttle. You'll learn more about what's going on as you board.
Completion Rewards: You'll get 1,000 experience points and 3,750 Credits for completing this mission.
