Q: What is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2?

A: This is a LEGO-styled action game released in 2017 based on Marvel's cast of heroes and villains, developed by Traveller's Tales and distributed by WB Interactive. It incorporates elements from both the comics and Marvel films.

Q: Isn't LEGO Avengers the second LEGO Marvel game?

A: Technically, yes. I guess Traveller's Tales wanted to separate them in terms of story, although you'll find so much overlap between the three games that it might as well be LMSH3.

Q: What is the ESRB rating of this game?

A: This game is rated E10+, with the added descriptor of Cartoon Violence.

Q: Would this game be good for my kids?

A: All violence is done towards LEGO bricks, so there's no blood. While the game does reference things that have happened in other Marvel properties, it keeps a light and airy tone and doesn't get too grim. As far as positive aspects of the game towards kids, the gameplay is focused on exploration, discovery, and critical thinking. The co-operative gameplay style and forgiving difficulty is also a plus.

Q: Does this game follow the story of any movie or comic book?

A: This game's story is an original work based on time travel and alternate universes, and not based on any particular films or comics, although several references are made to a lot of Marvel property. Since Thor: Ragnarok was released around the time this game was, expect to see a bunch of references to that film.

Q: Are there voice actors in this game? Who plays who?

A: All characters are fully voiced, but as this is an original story and not a movie, Marvel movie actors are not used. Instead, you'll be hearing a stable of "sound-alikes" for a lot of the characters.

Q: Where are the X-men? Or the Fantastic Four? WHERE'S DEADPOOL?

A: As of the release of this game, Fox still owns the film rights to those characters, so Marvel is tending to put those characters out of focus, at least for this game (and other media). That said, since Spider-Man has come back to Marvel Studios, Spidey characters are now in, whereas they weren't in LEGO Avengers. And hey, you get Gwenpool so... yay?

Q: How many people can play? Is there online play?

A: Two in normal play, up to four in Grandmaster Mode. There is no online play, though. All play is local.

Q: What's new about this game compared to the recent LEGO games?

A: A couple of things. If you've played LEGO Marvel Superheroes or LEGO Avengers, you'll find the games pretty similar in style. There have been a few things added: like the Challenges system for the main hub world, and four player mode in versus as mentioned above.
