Learn how to navigate Keystone Walls in Lords of the Fallen, including defeating Rogues and Crossbowmen, and helping the Injured Monk.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
As you exit, follow the path to the left to find a Checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death) Crystal (a save point).
  2. 2
Make your way down the stairs, killing the Infected (common enemies) as you go.
  3. 3
In the courtyard, wait for the Marauder (a tougher enemy) patrolling from the building on the right to move away before attacking the Infected. If you struggle, lead the Infected back to the stairs to fight them without the Marauder.
  4. 4
In the center of the courtyard is a large locked gate. You need to climb the stairs on either side and pull a lever (a switch) to open it.
  5. 5
On the right-hand platform, defeat another Marauder to pull the lever.
  6. 6
On the left-hand platform, fight a new enemy called a Rogue.
  7. 7
New Enemy: Rogue. Rogues perform fast 3-hit melee combos, a damaging leap attack that can knock you down, and a single stabbing attack if you are just outside their range.
  8. 8
Rogue Combat Strategy: Rogues carry a shield and block frontal attacks. Wait for them to attack, dodge or block, then strike once or twice while they recover. The leap attack offers the largest opening. You can also try to get behind them on the side opposite their shield arm.
  9. 9
After killing the Rogue, pull the lever to open the gate.
  10. 10
Head down the stairs and through the opening.
  11. 11
You will encounter an Injured Monk (an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) - non-player character). Speak with him and agree to cut off his arm.
  12. 12
You can offer him one of your potions. This will reduce your total potion carrying capacity by one, but will grant you 500XP (experience points), a Weapon (Axe - Butcher), and unlock an additional side-quest later in the game. It is recommended to give him a potion.
  13. 13
Cutting off the Monk's hand earns the achievement/trophy 'Take My Hand'.
  14. 14
Look straight ahead past the Monk for a large group of Infected. Do not fight them yet. Enter the door to the left, just past the Monk.
  15. 15
At the base of the stairs, defeat a pair of Baby Spiders (easily killed with one melee attack) and open a treasure chest containing pieces of an Armour Set (Head and Chest - Hot Blood).
  16. 16
Take the next set of stairs down. Before entering the tunnel ahead (which contains two more Infected and nothing else of interest), turn left and take another set of stairs.
  17. 17
Open the door at the bottom.
  18. 18
Here, at the far end of the wall, you will encounter your first Crossbowman (a ranged enemy).
  19. 19
New Enemy: Crossbowman. Crossbowmen fire bolts (which can later become flaming bolts causing a burning status) and perform a knock-back melee attack if you get too close. They can also throw incendiary grenades later in the game.
  20. 20
Crossbowman Combat Strategy: Crossbowmen are not very durable and can be defeated with a couple of melee attacks. The key is to close the distance without being hit by their bolts. Roll to avoid bolts and approach them.
  21. 21
As you move towards the Crossbowman, an Infected corpse will animate and attack. The Crossbowman will also start shooting at you. Kill the Infected first, dodging the bolts, then quickly take down the Crossbowman.
  22. 22
Climb the stairs here and enter the building.
  23. 23
Go through the small passage to the right of the locked gate. Hold your shield up as you enter, as a Rogue is waiting to ambush you just behind the door. Try to kill it near the doorway.
  24. 24
There is an Infected corpse on the far side of the room that will become active if you get too close. Clear the room of enemies.
  25. 25
Across from the entrance, pick up the Audio Note (Night Watch: Ninth Night).
  26. 26
There is a chest at the far side of the room that requires one of your runes (a key item) to open. Inside, you will find an Attribute Point Shard (which grants a point to improve your stats) and pieces of an Armour Set (Head, Leg and Wrist – Live Elements).
  27. 27
The door beside the chest is locked for now. Climb the stairs to the roof.
  28. 28
Kill the Marauder waiting on the roof. Note the stairs leading to a group of three Infected to the left.
Tips
  • The Rogue's shield makes frontal assaults ineffective; wait for an opening after their attacks.
  • The Crossbowman's ranged attacks require careful dodging and closing the distance quickly.
  • Offering a potion to the Injured Monk provides significant benefits, including a weapon and future improvements, despite the immediate reduction in potion capacity.
  • Be aware of the ambush Rogue immediately upon entering the North Watchtower room.
  • Checkpoint Crystal
  • 500XP, Weapon (Axe - Butcher), and future side-quest/potion upgrades (if potion is given to Injured Monk)
  • Achievement/Trophy: 'Take My Hand' (if Monk's arm is cut off)
  • Armour Set (Head and Chest - Hot Blood)
  • Audio Note (Night Watch: Ninth Night)
  • Attribute Point Shard
  • Armour Set (Head, Leg and Wrist – Live Elements)
