Thaynor, Monster Slayer

After the initial dialogue, introduce Thaynor to the king to begin the scene.

Access your character sheet (always available) to view stats, with Thaynor's on the second page and a map on the last.

If you chose specific dialogue options in a previous chapter, you may hear additional character-driven dialogue.

Before proceeding, you can scan Jed's thoughts.

Head away from King Tabor towards a civilian near a bench. Before the path curves downhill, find a Scroll of Healing on the ground. This item can restore Alex's and Ethan's health to full in battle.

You have an inventory accessible by pressing Left on the D-Pad, which contains scrolls, money, and unique items.

Proceed down the hill; your first battle will trigger before you go too far.

Check character sheets for abilities. Alex has Untuned Chord (1 damage) and two spells: Stirring Hymn (doubles Ethan's next attack damage) and Distortion Field (deals 1 damage per turn for two turns). If Distortion Field was not chosen, Alex has Healing Serenade (heals 1 health point).

Ethan has Shield of Courage (negates next damage) and two attacks: Stab (2 damage) and Burning Blade (deals 1 damage on use, and 1 damage on each of the next two turns).

Alex's and Ethan's health points (HP) are displayed on the upper-right of the battle screen. Reaching zero HP defeats a character. The goal is to reduce enemy HP to zero.

Items like the Scroll of Healing can be used in battle.

Defeat the Dire Wolf, which has 5 HP.

After the battle, you will receive the magic spell Fire Blast for Ethan (3 damage, also hurts Alex for 1 damage, usable once per fight), one coin, and a key.

You can listen to Ryan's thoughts or tease him.

Turn around to find Memory #12: Dollar at the foot of the slope where the Dire Wolf was.

Continue past the Dire Wolf's location and follow the path to the right at the fork.

On the deck steps, you will find another Scroll of Healing.

Return to the path and find a Scroll of Nimbleness on a boulder.
