Follow this guide to find Ethan in Life is Strange: True Colors, including finding memories, using the comic as a map, and navigating the Old Mine Entrance.

Look around the area. Before approaching the gate in front of Gabe and Ryan, check for a memory. A little ways to the left of the gate, there are a couple of helmets on the ground. The yellow one on the left contains Memory #4: Helmet - Jed.

If you kept Ethan's secret from Gabe, Alex will apologize at the beginning of this scene. Gabe reassures her, but his thoughts reveal he is still struggling with blaming her.

Investigate the Old Mine Entrance for a cutscene where Alex has a realization: Ethan's comic acts as a treasure map. You can pull up the comic at any time using the left bumper (L1) to find the next step in locating Ethan.

When you can move freely, find Gabe to the right of the bulldozer for an optional cutscene. Then, examine the comic again. Notice the dead guard on page 2, which may look familiar. To the side, you might see a large wall with "Julie McNamara" spray-painted on it. This is your last chance to grab the memory from the helmet. Approach the wall and press A (X) to compare it to the comic. Page 3 suggests the wall is hiding something.

When you go through the door, immediately behind Alex on the wall is a phone containing Memory #5: Phone - Jed. This is the last memory from Chapter 1.

Ahead, there is graffiti about marijuana legalization. As you proceed inside, Ryan will ask for help deciding which wire to fiddle with; neither option has any effect. Ryan is to the left of the yellow staircase.

Look at page 4 of the comic for your next clue. Approach the staircase, compare it to the comic, and move the sheet of metal blocking the path.

Ascend the stairs. The next clue is to the right, then around the corner. A conveyor belt resembles the cloud serpent bones depicted on page 5 of the comic. Compare it, but you cannot climb it like Ethan.

Interact with the chain hoist in the corner of the catwalk to open the door for Ryan. Go back down the stairs and make a sharp right turn where you previously found Ryan. If you haven't already, grab the memory from the phone. Continue towards Ryan and leave through the open door for a cutscene. When Alex holds up the comic, simply back out of it to finish the scene.
