Learn the basics of Flick Rush, a real-time card battle game in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Discover strategies, Spirit choices, and how to win tournaments for the Sweet Dreams Keyblade.

Flick Rush is a real-time card battle game within Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, similar to Yu-Gi-Oh!. Before each match, you select three Spirits. Their actual stats don't matter as they are standardized for the match.

During a match, cards on the Touch Screen represent Spirit commands. Sliding them up initiates an attack, and down initiates a defense. You can chain commands together using a pink/yellow gauge divided into four units. Defensive actions do not consume gauge units, and the gauge slowly refills over time.

Below the gauge are icons showing your Spirits, their HP, and remaining cards. Tapping a Spirit switches to it. Holding a Spirit's icon reloads its deck towards 15 cards. Unused Spirits slowly refill their cards over time.

Card values indicate offense and defense strength. Chaining moves adds their values. Stars are always trump cards and defeat any other card; avoid using them in combos unless intended. If your offense is higher than the opponent's defense, you break through, neutralize their cards, and deal damage. If your offense is lower than their defense, your attack is neutralized with no damage. If your offense is lower than their offense, you lose your cards and likely take damage. Ties result in a card-matching mini-game on the top screen.

Successfully defending allows your first card in a chain to double its value and become a special command (e.g., Thundaga, Elixir, Faith, Mega Flare). These special commands can be reused defensively if they are the first in a chain.

The goal is to deplete the opponent's Spirits' HP before they deplete yours. After winning, you receive match stats, your rank (C to Star), and medal count. Ranking up or unlocking new cups can occur between matches.

Winning all matches in Flick Rush tournaments earns a trophy and the Sweet Dreams Keyblade. To achieve 100% Tournament Completion, you must earn a star-rank on every match, resulting in a Gold Prize. This is primarily for completionists.

My Personal Technique and Recommendations

A recommended technique involves using three Spirits with the special command 'Faith'. Aura Lion and Halbird are good choices, with Kooma Panda or Pegaslick as alternatives. The strategy focuses on minimizing damage taken and using Faith for both offense and healing.

During the fight, prioritize defense. Slide all four cards down (or one star card) to defend, with the highest value card first. While defending, begin reloading your deck. You may gain new commands, often with three or four units left on the action gauge. Chain these new commands (unless they are stars) to prevent negation. Faith damages and heals HP.

For offense, Faith is primary. If the opponent defends heavily, try to break through their defense. Otherwise, reload or use a basic curative command like Curaga. Occasionally, use two-to-four card chains, preferably ones with longer animations like Claw Combo with Aura Lion, to allow for card deck reloading.
