Swimming is a basic skill in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. You will not be using it very often due to the presence of Lurker Sharks, which patrol nearly every body of water. If you stray too far from the shore, you will be swallowed immediately.
To swim, you simply wade out into a body of water. You can still jump (with the X button) while at the surface. To dive into the water, press the Square Button. This is useful for grabbing Precursor Orbs that are hidden underwater.
