Complete Half-Life: Blue Shift Part 12 walkthrough, including escorting Dr. Rosenberg and navigating the Focal Point chapter.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Place a satchel charge near the center of the storage car's door.
  2. 2
Toss another satchel charge into the corner between the "FREIGHT WAREHOUSE" door and its sign.
  3. 3
Press against the storage car's door to open it and enter.
  4. 4
Go to Dr. Rosenberg and wait for him to finish talking and position himself to boost you.
  5. 5
    Detonate your satchel charges.
  6. 6
Hop onto Dr. Rosenberg's hands and up to open the ceiling vent.
  7. 7
Carefully jump up to catch hold of the vent's grating.
  8. 8
Turn around and move up until you can see if both marines near the storage car's door were killed by the satchel.
  9. 9
If not, fire RPG rockets until they are dead.
  10. 10
    Drop down to the ground.
  11. 11
Go to the back of the storage car and open it.
  12. 12
Approach Dr. Rosenberg and wait for him to stop talking, then get him to follow you.
  13. 13
Escort Dr. Rosenberg back to the elevator you took down to the old lab.
  14. 14
Lead him through the "FREIGHT WAREHOUSE" door and around to where section ba_yard4 loads up again.
  15. 15
Follow Rosenberg up the stairs to a room where he will stop following you.
  16. 16
Push open the door to the hallway and quicksave.
  17. 17
Shoot out the window on the right wall with your pistol.
  18. 18
Crouch-strafe slowly left until you can stand up and see a marine's right arm.
  19. 19
Shoot the arm to make the marine move.
  20. 20
Crouch-walk closer, stand up, and finish the marine with the shotgun.
  21. 21
If unsuccessful, strafe left until the marine sees you, shoot out the window, and quickly shoot the marine down (use the .357 if needed).
  22. 22
Run quickly to the nearest protrusion on the left wall of the hallway.
  23. 23
Crouch-walk very slowly and carefully to sneak-shoot the marine at the other end of the hall with the pistol.
  24. 24
Quickly finish him off if he sees you. Quickrestore and try again if needed, using the .357 if the pistol is too slow.
  25. 25
Bash the box on a table in the first marine's side room to find a health pack.
  26. 26
Get Dr. Rosenberg to follow you again.
  27. 27
In the room at the other end of the hall, check near a dead guard for a helmet and a bullet clip.
  28. 28
Go down a short hall to the freight records office and leave Dr. Rosenberg there.
  29. 29
Go through another door and approach the door to the stairwell.
  30. 30
Crouch-walk along the left wall to the stairwell door.
  31. 31
As soon as the door opens, get out the .357 and quicksave.
  32. 32
Edge carefully to see part of a marine's head without being seen, then kill him with a headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill). (Banging on the wall with the crowbar may help make the marine turn.)
  33. 33
Deal with the two marines on the stairs to the left using the same method, or use the pistol on the first to save a .357 slug.
  34. 34
If Dr. Rosenberg doesn't start running down the stairs, get him to follow you, then go down the stairs.
  35. 35
After going through the door to the basement, get him to follow again.
  36. 36
Go down the hallway until section ba_yard3 loads up again.
  37. 37
Run into the elevator past the big wall hole and use its button panel to get it going as soon as Dr. Rosenberg is inside.
  38. 38
After the elevator stops, you will be back in the ba_teleport1 section.
  39. 39
Get Rosenberg following you again and go back to the door with the handprint scanner.
  40. 40
While he opens the door, check the nearby security room for any useful items.
  41. 41
As you follow Rosenberg through the handprint door, check the wall on the right for a first aid station.
  42. 42
Catch up to Rosenberg and follow him, listening to his explanation.
  43. 43
Wait until he opens a teleporter orb on a large platform.
  44. 44
Run into the orb to be taken to the border world, where the "Focal Point" chapter begins.
  45. 45
As the "Focal Point" chapter starts, get the shotgun out and wait for three houndeyes to run up to you.
  46. 46
    Blast all of them.
  47. 47
Look near where you appeared for three large rocks of different sizes next to each other.
  48. 48
Jump onto the shortest rock, then the middle one, and then the highest one.
  49. 49
From the highest rock, jump onto the large circular path nearby.
  50. 50
Wait for two more houndeyes to run up to you.
Tips
  • Quicksave before placing satchel charges.
  • If the initial satchel charges don't kill both marines near the storage car's door, use RPG rockets.
  • Be careful to keep Dr. Rosenberg following you during the escort sections.
  • Use crouch-strafing and cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) to your advantage when engaging marines.
  • The .357 magnum is effective for quick kills on marines if the pistol is too slow.
  • Quicksave frequently, especially before engaging enemies or attempting tricky maneuvers.
  • If you miss a headshot on a marine, quickrestore and try again.
  • Consider using the crowbar to distract marines before engaging them.
  • A health pack is available in a box on a table in the first marine's side room.
  • A helmet and bullet clip can be found near a dead guard in the room at the other end of the hall.
  • Use the environment for cover when fighting enemies.
  • The first aid station on the wall to the right after the handprint door can be useful.
  • A healing pool is available near the start of the "Focal Point" chapter, though you may not need it.
  • Use the rocks to reach the circular path at the start of the "Focal Point" chapter.
