Alright, so you've just booted up Evil Dead: The Game and you're wondering how to not get immediately swarmed by demons? Don't worry, we've all been there! This guide is all about getting you up to speed with the basics so you can start making those Deadites regret messing with you.

Teamwork is Essential and Makes the (Bad) Dream Work

First things first: this is a team game. Seriously, if you're planning on going solo, you're going to have a really bad time. Get your headset on, mic switched on, and get ready to communicate. Even if you can't speak the same language as your teammates, just sticking together is crucial. You'd be surprised how much you can achieve by just staying in proximity and reacting to each other, even during those jump scares where everyone screams in unison!

Locate the Map Fragments

One of the biggest challenges in Evil Dead: The Game is that it's designed to distract you. You'll be constantly sidetracked by attackers and new areas to explore, but finding map fragments is key to progressing. It's super easy for someone to wander off, especially if you're not talking to each other, and that holds the whole team back. Keep moving towards the objectives together. The time limits aren't super strict, but don't dilly-dally!

Push Forward Quickly

It might feel more natural to creep around and play it safe, but in this game, you need to push forward. If you spend too long in one area, a demonic storm will start closing in, and trust me, you do NOT want that catching up to you.

Find Better Weapons Quickly

Weapons dictate your playstyle. Want to keep the Deadites at a distance? Grab a shotgun. Prefer to get up close and personal? A chainsaw is your best bet for that classic gory feel. Plus, melee weapons let you perform awesome Finishing Moves once you've dealt enough damage – just look for the icon above an enemy's head and hit the prompt. You'll also find rarer versions of standard weapons with boosted stats. Keep an eye out for these in crates (in multiplayer) or guarded by tougher demons.

Vehicles & Stealth

Vehicles are scattered around the map and can be a great way to move your whole party around, or even run over some Deadites. However, using a vehicle alerts the Demon player that you're around, so any hope of a stealthy approach goes out the window. The same goes for firing your weapon. If you want to stay hidden, try to shoot and drive less. The longer you can keep the Demon in the dark about your location, the better your chances of surviving the early game.

Some enemies hit really hard. Timing your dodges is crucial for conserving your health and staying in the fight longer. Don't just stand there and take it!
