As you journey through the vibrant world of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, mastering Vocations is key to unlocking your party's full potential. These specialized classes grant unique abilities and stat boosts, transforming your characters into powerful warriors, mages, and more. To learn new Vocations, you'll need to seek out the Vocation Masters scattered across the various islands and continents. These individuals are typically found in specific towns or hidden locations, often after certain story milestones have been met.

In the early stages of your adventure, after arriving in Pilchard Bay and experiencing the initial island events, you will eventually gain access to the town of Durahan. Within Durahan, you will find the first Vocation Master. This master allows characters to learn basic Vocations such as the Warrior and Mage. To access this Vocation Master, you must first complete the quest involving the town's mayor and the troublesome monsters plaguing the area.

Later in your journey, after restoring islands and traveling to new continents, you will encounter other Vocation Masters. For instance, the island of Alltrades Abbey becomes a central hub for Vocation progression. Here, you can learn a wider array of advanced Vocations. Reaching Alltrades Abbey often requires navigating treacherous dungeons and defeating formidable foes. Keep an eye out for NPCs who offer hints about these masters; they are often found in taverns or inns, discussing rumors or local legends.

Each Vocation Master has specific requirements for unlocking certain classes. For example, to learn the advanced Jester Vocation, a character might need to have mastered a prerequisite Vocation, such as the Dancer, and have reached a certain level. The game tracks your Vocation mastery, and upon meeting the requirements, the Vocation Master will offer the new class. Remember that switching Vocations can reset a character's level to 1 within that new Vocation, but they retain their learned skills and spells, making strategic Vocation choices crucial for long-term character development.
