The primary responsibility of a Hard Support is to protect and enable their Position 1 Carry in the safe lane. This involves harassing the enemy offlaner, denying enemy creeps to prevent the carry from farming, and ensuring the carry has a safe environment to gain experience and gold. This often means sacrificing your own farm and even taking damage to protect your carry.

Key duties of a Position 5 Hard Support include:

• Lane Support: Staying with the carry, harassing the enemy offlaner with spells or right-clicks, and using Tangoes or Salve to sustain the carry.
• Warding and Vision: Placing observer and Sentry Wards in strategic locations to provide vision of enemy movements, potential ganks, and Roshan. This is crucial for map control and safety.
• Stacking Neutral Camps: Pulling neutral creep camps at specific timings (e.g., 53-54 seconds past the minute) to prevent them from respawning and to create larger stacks for your cores to farm later.
• De-warding: Using Sentry Wards to reveal and destroy enemy observer wards, denying them vision and information.
