Pallet Breaking:

Pallets are one of the primary tools Survivors use to slow down Killers during chases. As a Killer, understanding how and when to break pallets is key. Breaking a pallet takes time, during which you are vulnerable. Therefore, it's often more strategic to respect a pallet (i.e., go around it or bait the Survivor into dropping it) if you can gain ground elsewhere, rather than immediately breaking it and losing chase momentum.

However, some pallets are strategically important to remove from the map, especially those in open areas or near objectives, as they can create powerful loops for Survivors. When breaking a pallet, be aware of your surroundings and any potential Survivors hiding nearby.

Window Blocking:

Windows are another common obstacle. Many windows can be vaulted by Survivors, allowing them to gain distance. Killers cannot vault windows, but they can use them to their advantage by predicting Survivor movements and cutting them off. Some Killers have powers that can interact with windows, such as blocking them or vaulting them themselves.

For most Killers, the strategy involves predicting which window a Survivor will vault and positioning yourself to intercept them on the other side or force them into a dead zone (an area with no pallets or windows). Denying Survivors access to strong vault locations can significantly shorten chases.
