Objective 1 : Assemble with Sgt. Pavlov's squad.

Alright, so after dealing with the sewers, your next objective is to link up with Sergeant Pavlov and his squad. You'll find them hunkered down in a ditch across a snowy field from an apartment building – that's your target.

Pavlov's got a plan to draw out the German snipers. He'll have Private Kovalenko act as bait, and your job is to take them out as they reveal themselves. Keep your aim steady, there are seven of them.

Once the snipers are down, things get hectic. Artillery will start falling, and you'll need to make a run for the apartment building with the rest of the squad. Watch out for MG42 fire from the ground floor as you advance. You'll push through the building, clearing out German soldiers floor by floor.

After securing the building, Pavlov will brief you on the next phase: defending it. You'll be using the PTRS-41 anti-tank rifles to deal with incoming Panzer IV tanks, while the rest of the squad uses captured MG42s against the infantry. There are AT rifles on the second and third floors, so make sure to utilize them effectively.

This defense is intense, lasting about four minutes. Expect heavy tank and infantry assaults. It's room-to-room fighting, so be ready with your submachine guns and grenades. Keep an eye on Sergeant Pavlov; there's a chance he might not make it through this fight.

If you manage to hold them off, Soviet reinforcements, including T-34/85 tanks, will arrive to help clean up. You'll meet them outside the apartment building, and if he survived, Sergeant Pavlov will join you.
