The Dive Bomber is a popular aircraft in Battlefield 1942, appealing to both novice and veteran players. Its slower speed allows pilots more time to line up targets, and it drops two bombs simultaneously, unlike fighters. Dive bombers have a maximum bomb capacity of 30 and can carry two people, including a tailgunner in the back, though this is often used for transporting infantry (soldiers on foot). While you can perform a dive bomb maneuver, the bombs have a generous margin for error, often still hitting targets even if not perfectly aimed.

However, Dive Bombers are vulnerable to fighters. Their slow speed makes them easy targets, and despite being able to withstand more damage than fighters, their lack of maneuverability makes them susceptible to skilled pilots. The primary role of a Dive Bomber is to support your team by destroying tanks, other vehicles, and infantry near capture points. If you are new to flying in Battlefield 1942, the Dive Bomber is recommended for learning, ideally in an offline (practice) mode.
