CHAPTER 07: A MYSTERY

Talk to Anya at the HQ to receive your mission: retrieve a file from the archives and a mold sample covered in mold.

Check the cot near J; a letter is under the pillow.

Return to the room where you previously found an armor upgrade; interacting with the desk again yields another armor upgrade.

Go to the archives room and attempt to open the door. J will instruct you to get the key from Wyatt or Fergus.

Go to Wyatt or Fergus's room; a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will trigger, and you will automatically receive the key.

Return to the archives room, unlock the door, and take the file from the desk.

Proceed to the hangar and locate the mold sample near Max and his gang.

After examining the mold sample, BJ will determine a circular saw is needed.

The circular saw is to your left when facing the mold sample, on top of plywood.

When you attempt to grab the circular saw, BJ will fall through the floor and automatically equip the laser cutter.

Recharge the laser cutter and set it to "blast" mode.

As you round a corner, shoot the turret attached to the wall to destroy it.

Move to the right side of the bent gate and proceed through the subsequent door.

Find the second record, "House of the Rising Sun" by the Volksmusik All-Stars, on a middle shelf in this room.

Loot the shelves for the record and any armor pieces.

Enter the sewer area and battle the drones.

Grab the shotgun leaning against a shelf and the shells on the shelf to defeat the drones.

In the sewer area, locate a large hole in the floor blocked by a railing.

Find the bent and broken section of the railing, stand there, and look down and across to spot a hole in the side of the well.

Sprint and jump to land on the pipes underneath this hole, then crawl through into a new area.

Go up the stairs and look on the red barrel to find the gold ash tray.

Use the laser cutter on the chain securing the next door to return to your objective area.

Open the next door and continue to the next wave of drones.

Destroy all drones and ascend the ladder to return to the hangar.

Use the circular saw on the concrete to obtain the sample, which will scare Max.

This action unlocks a side quest to find Max's lost toys. You can choose to find the toys or speak to Anya to complete the chapter.

To complete the chapter, speak to Anya.

To find the toys, examine the picture on Max's wall for a clue (the objective marker is not helpful for finding them).

The first toy, a toy robot, is walking around the hangar area.

The toy telephone is in Caroline's room, on the desk.

The toy blocks are behind the wall in Caroline's room; step through the large hole in the wall.

Max's toy truck is in the archives room, on a shelf to your right upon entering.

Once all four toys are collected, return them to Max's room and examine the picture on the wall. BJ will place the toys on the end table, unlocking Max Hass's character biography.

Return to Anya and speak with her to proceed to the next chapter.
