How to Defeat Zhang Rang in Wo Long: To In Wo

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Duplicates and Zhang Rang Zhang Rang will summon duplicates of himself. Identify the real Zhang Rang by the absence of a smaller health bar above his head. Focus on defeating the clones quickly, as they buff Zhang Rang and don't have much health. Deflecting clones can lead to a one-shot Fatal Strike. Defeating clones also reduces Zhang Rang's Spirit Gauge. If you have an NPC companion, direct them to help with the clones to prevent them from getting overwhelmed.
2. Phase 2: Zhang Rang Solo Once all clones are defeated, focus on the real Zhang Rang. Attack him aggressively to build up his Spirit Gauge and prepare for a Critical Blow. Use combos like Triangle + Square + Circle (Playstation) or Y + X + B (Xbox), and incorporate Martial Arts or Spells. Using Repression Crush can slow his Spirit Gauge recovery. After a Critical Blow, Zhang Rang will resummon his clones, and you will need to repeat the process.

Strategy:

• Before the fight, ensure your Fortitude Rank is at least 20 by activating Battle and Marking Flags. Farm enemies between flags to raise your Morale Rank to 21-22 or higher for an easier fight.
• Prioritize defeating Zhang Rang's clones as soon as they appear. They have low health and can be defeated with a simple combo or a Fatal Strike if deflected successfully.
• When it's just you and the real Zhang Rang, be aggressive to build his Spirit Gauge. Use your character's combo and Martial Arts/Spells to stagger him.
• The move Repression Crush can be effective in slowing down Zhang Rang's Spirit Gauge recovery, making it easier to stun him.
• If you have an NPC companion, coordinate with them to handle the clones, preventing them from dying and needing constant revivals.
• Repeat the cycle of defeating clones and performing Critical Blows on Zhang Rang until he is defeated.
