The Shadow Beast, a formidable entity lurking within the Whispering Woods, presents a significant challenge to aspiring mages. This creature is known for its potent shadow magic, capable of draining your Mana Pool and inflicting the 'Fear' status effect, which can cause your character to momentarily lose control. Its primary attack pattern involves swift, shadowy lunges and area-of-effect shadow bursts that cover a wide radius. When engaging the Shadow Beast, maintaining distance is key, especially if you are a spellcaster reliant on a large mana reserve.

To effectively combat the Shadow Beast, prioritize spells that deal light or radiant damage, as these are its primary weaknesses. The 'Luminous Orb' spell, learned during your first year at Witchbrook Academy, is particularly effective. Its damage scales with your Intelligence stat, and each successful hit has a chance to temporarily stun the beast.
