The Heads-Up Display, or HUD, in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is your primary source of vital information, providing critical data at a glance to ensure your survival and combat effectiveness. Dominating the display is your health bar, typically located in a prominent position, often the bottom left or center. This bar visually represents your remaining vitality. When it depletes, your screen may begin to flash red, and audio cues will alert you to your precarious state. Managing your health is paramount; always be on the lookout for health packs or other restorative items scattered throughout the environment or dropped by fallen enemies. A full health bar is your best defense against the myriad threats you will face.

Adjacent to your health indicator, you will find your ammunition counter. This displays the current number of rounds loaded in your active weapon and your total reserve ammunition. Different weapons have vastly different ammo capacities and consumption rates. The iconic Boltgun, for example, might have a substantial magazine but can chew through ammo quickly when fired continuously. Understanding your ammo status is crucial; running dry in the middle of a firefight against a horde of Traitor Guard can be a death sentence. Keep an eye on this counter and make a mental note of nearby ammo pickups or consider switching to a secondary weapon if your primary is running low. Some weapons might also have secondary fire modes that consume ammo differently, so be mindful of that as well.

The HUD also typically displays your currently equipped weapon, often with an icon and its name. This is important for quickly identifying which weapon you are wielding and for managing your arsenal. You may also see indicators for special abilities, grenades, or other equippable items.
