Alright, so you're playing as Venom and the Beetle's decided he wants a piece of you – specifically, a sample. The game's a little fuzzy on *why* Beetle's after Venom, but it seems tied to some bigger Latverian plot involving Green Goblin and Sandman samples. Don't worry too much about it for now; nothing major comes of it in this game, but it's a cool setup!

This is a pretty quick chase sequence that leads you straight into a boss fight at a warehouse in Harlem, northwest Manhattan. Let's get this done.

Boss Fight: Beetle

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Beetle is vulnerable to Venom's whip attacks.
• Watch out for his energy wave and energy arm blades.
• In Stage 2, avoid the laser traps on the floor and corners.

Phases:

1. Stage 1: Grenades and Energy Waves

   Beetle starts by flying around and tossing grenades at you. Your best bet here is to close the distance and use your whip. When Beetle starts to glow, that's your cue to back off – he's about to unleash an energy wave. After you've knocked his health down about a quarter of the way, he'll start throwing more grenades, often with a lot of smoke, and bring up a force shield. This signals the start of Stage 2.

2. Stage 2: Laser Traps and Corner Blasts

   Now you're trapped in the warehouse with some nasty laser traps in the corners. Beetle will still be throwing grenades, but the real danger is when he hovers in a corner. If he stays there too long, he'll blast a wave of lasers across the entire field. Your strategy here is to keep moving and follow Beetle around. Wait for him to stop moving, then whip him from a distance. Getting too close can easily land you in one of those traps. He'll also come at you with those energy arm blades, so be ready to dodge and counter.

Strategy:

• Stage 1: Aggressively close the distance and whip Beetle. Dodge his energy wave when he glows.
• Stage 2: Keep mobile. Don't let Beetle camp in a corner. Use ranged whip attacks when he's stationary.
• General Tip: Always be aware of your surroundings, especially the laser traps in Stage 2. If you get too close to Beetle when he's winding up his energy blade, you'll take heavy damage.
• Reward: Once you defeat Beetle, this section of the game is complete.
