Follow this guide to capture Priego in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands. Learn enemy positions, optimal squad commands, and how to secure the objective.
Alright, so we're diving into mission C08, 'Righteous Archer (2)'. The main goal here is pretty straightforward: Capture Priego. Not kill him, mind you, but actually capture him. The briefing should fill you in on why, but for now, just know that your standard loadout is fine. Make sure someone's got the M136 rocket launcher, though. Assign your squad points and let's get this mission rolling.
- 1First things first, save your game. Now, pull up your map and look to the southeast. You'll see a helicopter pad right next to a guard tower. That's our destination to make sure Priego doesn't make a run for it. While you're looking at the map, check out the northeast guard tower on the hill. There's a stationary grenade launcher up there, and trust me, you don't want to be on the receiving end of that if Priego spots you.
- 2So, grab Will Jacobs and leave Bravo squad hanging for a sec. We need to get a better angle. Circle around that big rock until you can see the road. Wait a minute – literally, just wait – until you spot an enemy walking south along the road. Take him out quietly. Keep moving slowly around the rock, heading east.
- 3Crouch down until you can just make out the faint outline of the ledge where the command post is. Now, lie down and get your binoculars out. Zoom in twice and scan the area. You need to spot an enemy, who could be anywhere from 80 to 90 meters away. Once you've got a bead on him, and without moving your gun, switch to Will Jacobs' OICW (or whatever he's got) and shoot exactly where you saw him. That's your main threat for this whole mission gone.
- 4Now, clear a path for Bravo squad to move between the helicopter pad and the command post. Follow them. Once you link up with Bravo, there shouldn't be any more enemies on that ledge, so just keep following them.
- 5You'll go past a 'roadblock' and through a weird passage where the rain seems to be blowing sideways. Keep following Bravo until their leader takes out an enemy. At this point, tell Bravo to 'Hold' and head down to where that enemy was just shot.
- 6You'll start seeing what looks like a command post – pretty standard stuff. Use your binoculars again to spot the two enemies there. Take them out, and then tell Bravo to 'Advance'. While Bravo is moving in, take out the lone soldier near the helicopter. Once Bravo arrives, save your game.
- 7Now, have Bravo retreat back to the command post. Pull Alpha squad back a bit from the helicopter, then have them fire a rocket at it. Enjoy the fireworks as the chopper blows up! With the heli gone, you pretty much can't lose, as Priego has no escape route.
- 8Have Bravo 'Hold' and 'Suppress'. Take Alpha squad westward to stir up some trouble. This should make Priego 'attempt' to escape.
- 9Save your game before heading out. Follow the south part of the long rock to the west. You'll encounter two enemies patrolling east from the southwest command post. Take them out.
- 10Now, focus your attention up the steep hill. If Klaus Henkel has the MM1 equipped, this part can be a blast. If so, start raining grenades down on the 'Main Base' with all 24 of them. If not, or once you're done bombing, head up the hill and start clearing out the enemies near the southwest exit.
- 11You'll know Priego is down near the helicopter pad when Bravo takes out an enemy. Priego himself will be right there, but for some reason, he just stays put instead of running. You can either hang back with Alpha and clear out all the remaining enemies, or you can just go straight for Priego and capture him. Either way, the mission completes, and you'll finish the game. Time for the ending cutscene!
