Being close to both of these essential resources will drastically reduce the initial workload for your beavers, as they will have less distance to travel to gather logs and access water. Flat ground is generally ideal for easier building placement, minimizing the need for extensive terraforming in the very beginning. However, don't shy away from slightly uneven terrain if it offers superior access to vital resources or strategic advantages for future expansion and water management.
