In THRONE AND LIBERTY, your personal City isn't just a place to store your loot; it's a dynamic hub for resource generation, military training, and a testament to your growing power. Mastering City Management is crucial for sustained growth and dominance on the Warpath Map. This detailed guide will walk you through establishing and optimizing your domain.

Establishing Your City

Upon completing the initial tutorial quests, you will be granted your first Regional Capital. This serves as your primary City and the foundation of all your endeavors. Your City's initial layout is pre-determined, but its development is entirely in your hands.

Initial City Setup & Core Structures

Your City begins with several essential structures. Prioritizing their upgrades is key to early game progression:

• Throne of Might: The heart of your City. Upgrading this structure unlocks higher-tier buildings and increases your overall City Power. Access the Throne of Might by clicking on its icon within your City view.
• Barracks: Essential for training your Army. Early upgrades to the Barracks will allow you to train more units simultaneously and unlock stronger troop types. Navigate to the Barracks via your City interface.
• Workshop: Used for crafting Equipment (Official) for your Champion and Mercenaries. Invest in Workshop upgrades to unlock higher-tier crafting recipes and improve crafting speed.
• Scout Tower: Provides crucial intelligence on Random Enemy Encounters and Resource Locations on the World Map. Upgrading the Scout Tower increases its range and the detail of its reports.
• City Walls: Your primary defense against invading forces. Regular upgrades to your City Walls increase their durability and the number of defensive units they can support.
• Temple: Offers various blessings and buffs for your City and Army. Upgrading the Temple unlocks more potent blessings and reduces their cooldowns.

Resource Management & Production

A thriving City requires a constant influx of resources. Efficient resource management is paramount.

Resource Buildings

Within your City, you can construct and upgrade various resource-generating buildings:

• Lumber Mill: Produces Wood, a fundamental building material.
• Farm: Generates Food, necessary for sustaining your Army and population.
• Mine: Extracts Stone and Iron, vital for advanced construction and equipment.
• Quarry: Provides Stone, another core building material.

Strategically place and upgrade these buildings to maximize your hourly resource production. You can check your current production rates and resource stockpiles in the "Items" section of your Player Profile, under the "Resources" tab.

External Resource Gathering

Beyond your City walls, the World Map is rich with Resource Locations. Deploy your Army to gather additional resources:

1. Open the World Map and locate nearby Resource Locations (e.g., "Dense Forest" for Wood, "Iron Vein" for Iron).
2. Select a Resource Location and choose "Gather."
3. Assign a portion of your Army to the gathering task. The larger the force, the faster the gathering.
4. Monitor your Queues to track gathering progress.

Be mindful of other players; Resource Locations can be contested. Upgrading your Scout Tower will help you identify potential threats before deploying your Army.

Champion & Mercenary Management

Your Champion and Mercenaries are integral to both offensive and defensive strategies. Your City provides the means to develop them.

Champion Development

• Champion Talents: Access your Champion's talent tree via the "Champion" menu. Allocate talent points earned through Adventures and other activities to enhance their combat prowess, resource gathering efficiency, or City management bonuses.
• Equipment (Official): Craft and equip your Champion with powerful gear at the Workshop. Focus on equipment that complements your Champion's role (e.g., offensive gear for combat, utility gear for resource bonuses).

Mercenary Management

Mercenaries are trained at the Barracks and provide additional combat power. Manage them effectively:

• Training: Regularly train new Mercenaries to replenish losses and expand your Army. Different Mercenary types offer unique strengths and weaknesses.
• Upgrades: Research Alliance Technologies and City upgrades to unlock stronger Mercenary tiers.

City Defenses & Security

Protecting your City from rival players and Random Enemy Encounters is paramount. A well-defended City deters attacks and minimizes losses.

Defensive Structures

• City Walls: As mentioned, these are your first line of defense. Keep them upgraded.
• Watchtowers: Construct Watchtowers along your City Walls to increase defensive unit capacity and provide additional attack power during sieges.

Garrisoning Troops

Always maintain a strong garrison within your City. Access the "Army" menu and select "Garrison" to assign troops to defend your City. A well-garrisoned City will automatically defend against incoming attacks.

Advanced City Management & Optimization

Alliance Bastion Integration

Being part of an Alliance significantly enhances your City's capabilities. Your Alliance Bastion provides shared bonuses and defensive support. Participate in Alliance Tasks and contribute to Alliance Technologies to unlock powerful buffs that benefit your City, such as increased resource production or faster training times.

Queues & Efficiency

Efficiently manage your Queues for building upgrades, research, and troop training. Prioritize actions that align with your current goals. using VIP status can significantly reduce queue times and boost production.

Strategic Building Placement

While initial placement is fixed, future expansions may offer choices. Consider the adjacency bonuses some buildings might offer (though currently not a core mechanic, keep an eye on Update Logs for potential future features).

Monitoring & Adaptation

Regularly check your Player Profile for detailed statistics on your City's performance. Adapt your strategy based on current events, such as Limited-Time Events that might offer bonuses for specific activities, or the changing dynamics of the Seasons on the Warpath Map.
