Unlike traditional talent trees, the game focuses on weapon mastery, skill acquisition, and the synergistic enhancement of these through your gear. This guide will detail how to effectively acquire, upgrade, and utilize skills to dominate the battlefield.

Weapon Mastery and Skill Acquisition

Throne and Liberty's core progression system revolves around your chosen weapon. As you use a specific weapon type, you gain Weapon Proficiency, which in turn unlocks new skills associated with that weapon. This means your "talents" are intrinsically tied to your combat style dictated by your armament.

How to Acquire Skills:

1. Weapon Proficiency:
   • Equip a weapon (e.g., Sword & Shield, Bow, Staff, Dagger, Two-Handed Sword, Crossbow).
   • Engage in combat using that weapon. Each successful hit and defeated enemy grants Weapon Proficiency experience for that specific weapon type.
   • As your proficiency increases, you will unlock new active skills and passive bonuses unique to that weapon. These are automatically added to your skill bar or available for selection.
   • You can check your Weapon Proficiency progress and unlocked skills by opening your Character menu and navigating to the "Weapon Mastery" or "Skills" tab.
2. Skill Books:
   • Certain advanced or specialized skills are not unlocked through weapon mastery alone but require specific Skill Books.
   • These books are primarily obtained as rewards from challenging content:
     • Dungeon Bosses: High-level dungeons like the "Ruins of Solitude" or the "Sunken Temple" have a chance to drop rare Skill Books upon defeating their final bosses.
     • World Bosses: Participating in and contributing to the defeat of World Bosses such as "Gargantos the Colossus" or "The Crimson Tyrant" can yield valuable Skill Books.
     • Special Events: Limited-time events, often announced in-game or on official channels, frequently offer Skill Books as participation or completion rewards.
     • PvP Rewards: Success in large-scale PvP battles, such as "Territory Wars" or "Siege Battles," can sometimes grant access to unique Skill Books through victory chests.
   • To learn a skill from a Skill Book, simply double-click the item in your inventory. Ensure you have the required weapon equipped if the skill is weapon-specific.
3. Quest Rewards:
   • Some main story quests and significant side quests will directly reward you with powerful skills. Pay close attention to quest descriptions, especially those related to advancing your character's power or unlocking new combat techniques.
