Follow this walkthrough for The Wandering Village's first visit to the village. Learn how to navigate the area, find items, and survive your first combat encounters.
Walkthrough
- 1Start outside in the snow. Answer the phone and check the body for the Mission Briefing (File).
- 2Follow the linear path, crouch, and drop down. Continue until you reach a building with a blood-stained wooden door.
- 3Enter the building and head down to the basement. After exploring, return upstairs. Your exit will be blocked, so crouch through an opening in the wall to proceed outside.
- 4Follow the path through a fence and down ledges into the Village. Reach the dead horse and turn right into a building. Note the locked drawer and bird cage; you'll return for these.
- 5Continue down the street to a dilapidated building. Nearby is an Outhouse, relevant for the When You Gotta Go... Trophy.
- 6Proceed towards a tractor until you reach a dead-end. Enter the building with an open door. Smash the yellow Crate and collect its contents (contents may vary by difficulty, potentially including ammo, healing items, money, or resources). Find a Knife in this building.
- 7You'll hear noises from above. Head into the kitchen, interact with the pot, and follow the rolling can behind the curtain to meet an NPC.
- 8The NPC will give you the LEMI Handgun. After a scene, push through bodies in a room full of them to find an exit.
- 9You will enter your first combat encounter against a Lycan (Werewolf type). Block their attacks, and if they grab you, block and push them back. Aim for headshots. After defeating it, search a small shack for a Herb and Chem Fluid, which can be combined into a First Aid Med.
- 10The way out is blocked. Return to the NPC's room and find Bolt Cutters.
- 11Use the Bolt Cutters to open the locked gate. Proceed across the water and into a building.
- 12Before heading upstairs, look for Handgun Ammo. Ensure your clip is full. Head upstairs to find more Handgun Ammo and Chem Fluid. Picking these up will trigger more Lycans outside. Barricade the door using shelves. A Lycan will enter via the stairs; defeat it, and the others will flee.
- 13Interact with the nearby radio to receive your next destination.
- 14Head outside. Lycans will have broken through a blocked area, and some may be visible on rooftops (they won't attack unless provoked).
- 15Open the gate behind the building you just exited. Head towards the building and smash the Crate. As you approach the stairs to enter, Lycans will attack. Run inside and barricade the door.
- 16Grab the M1897 Shotgun. Quickly search the area for an Herb, Handgun Ammo (x2), and Gunpowder (x2). Note the bags of flour that can be used for cover.
- 17Look for a hole in the floor with a ladder. Go down, grab the Rusted Scrap, and run back outside.
- 18This initiates a timed event where you must survive waves of enemies. A larger Lycan with a hammer, Urias, will appear.
- 19Option 1 (Survival): Run and hide until Urias appears, then follow the path with water to escape. An NPC will arrive, and the Lycans will clear off. This method prioritizes evasion, blocking, barricading, and hiding, conserving ammo.
- 20Option 2 (Combat): Attempt to kill Urias. This is recommended for skilled players or easier difficulties due to high ammo consumption. Successfully killing Urias may award the Timber Trophy. (Note: It might be impossible on the first run due to insufficient ammo).
- 21Within the area, find explosive red barrels. On the upper levels, locate an Herb, Shotgun Ammo, and a Crate to smash. These can be collected while fending off Lycans or after they are cleared.
